Labelling Machine for Resin Products, Vuba, UK
Established in 2009, Vuba formulate and manufacture a range of market-leading resin surfacing products. Their innovative range of polyurethane, acrylic and epoxy resins are produced in Beverley, East Yorkshire, and distributed worldwide. Trade and DIY customers also benefit from their programme of resin bound training courses. Vuba approached Karmelle to advise them on labelling machines as, at the time, they were still labelling some containers by hand.
The Challenge:
After speaking with Vuba and getting to understand their requirements it became apparent that the machine would need to be able to cope with labelling two different sizes of container (2.5ltr. and 5ltr.). The machine would also need to be able to switch between one sided labelling for the 2.5ltr. Product and two sided, front and back, labelling for their 5ltr. product.
The Solution:
After consulting with the customer, Karmelle established that a front and back labelling machine would be the best choice for production. The proposed machine featured Servo S2-175 Labelling Heads and was controlled via an HMI screen. This system would be able to dispense labels at speeds of up to 80 per-minute, should the customer require it.
Karmelle designed and manufactured the machine to Vuba’s specifications, with their team attending Factory Acceptance Testing prior to delivery. Due to a keen deadline, once the machine was approved it was able to be shipped the next day.
The new system has had a significant impact on the production at Vuba as in one hour, they are now able to label the same number of products as they were previously doing in 20 hours.
