Six Headed Capper for Coffee Jars, Beanies The Flavour Company, UK

Beanies Coffee was founded in 2013 and offer a selection of over 50 flavoured coffees. Due to the success
of their products, it was necessary for them to upgrade their original capping machine in order to increase production and meet demand.

The Challenge:

Beanies wanted to ensure that any machine they purchased would be reliable and any issues they may have in future would be easily delt with and rectified. For this reason, Beanies wanted to purchase from a UK based company. It was also important that the company they went with would be flexible with regards to machine installation as they wanted to minimise any downtime that might be caused by the upgrade.

While the main trigger for the new capping machine was the need to increase production it was also important that none of the quality of production was lost while doing this. Karmelle had previously Supplied Beanies with a Labelling machine as well as their historic Capping machine so Beanies were confident that Karmelle would be able to provide a reliable solution to meet their needs.

The Solution:

After consulting with Karmelle, Beanies decided to go with a new automatic, high speed, rotary capping machine. The Capping machine boasts a central rotary star wheel and multiple screw capping heads. This makes it ideal for medium to large scale production as it can achieve speeds of between 40 and 160 cpm (depending on cap type).

In addition to the increased capacity of the machine the capper also benefits from a ‘No Cap’ detector with warning lamp. As a result of this if an uncapped container is detected no further containers will leave the capper and the conveyor will stop. This additional feature aims to highlight any faults on jars before they reach the end of the line. Enabling issues to be highlighted and resolved in a timely manner and minimising downtime.

Karmelle were also able to work with Beanies to arrange installation over a weekend, again helping to minimise any downtime in production and ensuring a smooth switch from the three head capper to the upgraded six headed capping machine.
